This website is intended to accompany the academic conference
The Allied Occupation of Germany Revisited: New Research on the Western Zones of Occupation, 1945-1949
to be held at the German Historical Institute, London, on 29–30 September 2016.
The conference is supported by the Institute of Contemporary British History at Kings College London, the German Historical Institute London, the German History Society, the Royal Historical Society, the Society for the Study of French History, and the Beyond Enemy Lines project at Kings College London, funded by the European Research Council.
A call for papers was issued and proposals were accepted until 12 January 2016. A draft programme was released in mid-April 2016. The conference opened for registrations in mid-June 2016, but is now fully booked. We are therefore very sorry to say that we cannot accept any further registrations at this time and we are also unable to accept registrations made in person on the day of the conference. If you have been unable to secure a place and are interested in the conference outcomes, please keep checking this website, as we are planning to publish a selection of the conference papers and will be posting updates regarding publication plans.
The conference organisers are happy to respond to any enquiries via e-mail. Please contact Dr Camilo Erlichman (c.erlichman[at]uva.nl) or Dr Christopher Knowles (christopher.knowles[at]kcl.ac.uk).
